RDNA3 Delay

Today, the hardware leaker Greymon announced that AMD’s next-gen GPUs are being delayed by 1 week. When inquired about the event, the same leaker mentions that the event will still go as planned. Similarly, there are no hardware-related issues as was the case with Zen4.  https://twitter.com/greymon55/status/1585873034820583425 The actual release date lies sometime in the 1st week of December. Although, since we do not have an official date from AMD, we do not know if this was the planned date from day one. However, this does put up some questions about NVIDIA’s RTX 4080 16GB. AMD has basically given themselves 1 additional week to decide on RDNA3’s pricing. It will be interesting to see how well these GPUs fare against one another.

RDNA3, What Do We Know So Far

AMD’s RDNA3 is the third iteration in AMD’s RDNA series, the successor to GCN. RDNA3 improves on the initial RDNA2 architecture, with redesigned CUs and the next generation of Infinity Cache. Built on TSMC’s 5nm process node, we expect these GPUs to clock higher than 3.0GHz with ease. Officially, RDNA3 offers a 50% performance per watt increment over its predecessor.
