The add-on went on to receive a brief teaser trailer later in August. It was in Gamescom 2022’s Opening Night Live event that Techland formally revealed Bloody Ties to the world. The company has presented the upcoming DLC to be story-focused but early peeks into the update show gladiatorial arena combat than anything, making some fans suspicious over the implied addition of a separate game mode. But the lead team designer of Dying Light 2, Tymon Smektala informed gamers that it was important for the company to stress on the fact that this isn’t merely just an arena where players are supposed to fight waves upon waves of enemies. Instead, the Bloody Ties DLC features a main story with an additional five to six hours of content, not including numerous side quests added into the mix that will pretty much fill out the game’s Villedor map. The DLC is set to take place in Dying Light 2’s Carnage Hall, the arena that was heavily pictured in promotional media, but players will still get to poke around in optional areas of the map too. Techland has promised to deliver five years of post-launch support for Dying Light 2 akin to what we got to experience with the first instalment of the franchise. The game recently kicked off with Chapter 2: A Huntress and a Hag which is set to properly the game for the immediate future. Dying Light 2 is currently available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
