According to the announcement blogpost, the family plan will be available for Xbox Insiders in Colombia and Ireland. Clearly, Microsoft is testing the service before rolling it out to a wider audience. Moreover, the shared users don’t need to be Xbox Insiders to be invited to the family plan. Also, if you are wondering what happens to your existing service once you enroll for the family plan, “Insider Preview will convert the time remaining on your membership to time in the new plan, based upon the monetary value of the old membership“. Unfortunately, the conversion is not available for invited members, and they will need to cancel their existing service if they don’t want to wait for it to expire. Finally, Xbox All Access members won’t be able to enable the feature yet, most likely because the console price is also included in the plan. It seems Microsoft isn’t charging anything extra for the family plan yet, and the pricing is similar to the Xbox Ultimate Game Pass tier. This however might change when its widely rolled out, or Microsoft adds family sharing in the Ultimate Xbox Game Pass tier itself.
