Resident Evil 2’s Licker in Spider-Man Remastered

3D Artist Marcos RC shared their mod allowing fans to play as the Licker featured in the Resident Evil 2 Remake and it’s safe to say that the mod looks absolutely spectacular albeit not fitting the web-slinging persona of spiderman for many obvious reasons. We’ve seen many reskins for Spider-Man Remastered for the PC such as the Spectacular Spider–Man mod from the hit animated series, the Venom Symbiote suit, Carl Johnson with his African American swagger, and even the co-creator of the series, Stan Lee. Mods were already popular for Spider-Man before it came to the PC and now, the fluidity and the popularity of the mods have absolutely skyrocketed now. Mods for Spider-Man remastered will continue to be pumped out until almost every franchise and IP has somehow made its way into the game with the help of the modding community. Players can now scale buildings as the Licker with this new mod. This is showcased in a demonstration clip that was shared by Marcos RC. He uploaded the clip to Twitter where the Licker swung around the skylines of New York and crawled along buildings akin to how Lickers navigate in the Resident Evil 2 Remake. In Resident Evil 2, players have to navigate the narrow and silent corridors of the game with the off-chance of a licker perched behind a wall or around a corner. But in Spider-Man remastered, players get to fight crime and patrol New York City as the terrifying creature from Resident Evil. The clip also showcases how the licker leaps into the introductory combat sequence of the game where Spider-Man invades Fisk Tower. Similarly, the licker is seen web-swinging through the open world of Manhatten while also giving a QTE beatdown on Wilson Fisk. Sadly, we noticed some dropped frames during the game and Marcos RC explains that this happens when you modify the model, which was a pretty vague explanation on their part. Still, the most immersive feature that fits well with the Licker’s persona is the ability to scale and crawl on buildings and walls which is its most defined behavior in the Resident Evil series. But the immersion is broken when you start web-swinging across the city. As for cutscene, we’d be understating the hilarity that ensues when Spider-Man speaks as the licker or walks as a bipedal instead of the quadruped that it is in the Resident Evil franchise. Spider-Man is currently available for Windows PC and PS5, and PS4. So, what do you think of the Licker mod for Spider-Man Remastered for the PC? Let us know in the comments below. We upload daily on Appuals, so stay tuned for more. Till then, see you later and goodbye!
